This is only a deposit to secure your order. The remaining total will be due upon receiving the live weight of the pig from us.
Whole pig is $2/lb live weight, minus deposit
Half pig is $2.75/lb live weight, minus deposit
Pigs in confinement typically weigh 250-275lbs at butcher. Our pigs weigh 375 to 400lbs. We slow feed our pigs, by hand. Our pigs are heritage pigs and we think they need to grow slowly, to lay down their amazing fat and marbling.
So a price on a whole would be around $750 plus butcher fee. Remember, it’s 100lbs more pig, it WILL be more meat!
If you ordered a half hog, it would be half the price above.
Butcher prices for a whole hog range around $350 to $400 depending on what your smoking and packaging preferences are.
Once confirmed, we will let you know when your butcher date is and what the half or whole pigs live weight is from the butcher.
Then, you will call the butcher to work out the cut-sheet. Dont worry, pig cut sheets are easy. Only thing to make sure to decide - if you want boneless or bone-in butts and hams.
We can certainly help you, if you need help with the cut sheet.
Pick-Up:
You can pay for the butcher fees upon pick-up from the butcher. Make sure to have your cut-sheet handy and tell them if something is wrong and if any cuts aren’t sealed, they can re-seal them for you.
Payment to us should be made when we tell you the live weight. Check, cash, Venmo, PayPal & ApplePay is preferred. Credit cards can certainly be accepted, but don’t kill us for charging an extra 3% of the remaining total.
